Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by everyone who looked at her, but most of all by her grandmother, and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child. Once she gave her a little riding hood of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else; so she was always called ‘Little Red Riding Hood.’
One day her mother said to her: ‘Come, Little Red Riding Hood, here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine; take them to your grandmother, she is ill and weak, and they will do her good. On her way Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf.
“Hello!” said the wolf.
“Where are you going!”
“I’m going to see my grandmother. She lives in a house behind those trees.”
The wolf ran to Granny’s house, and ate Granny up. He got into Granny’s bed. A little later, Little Red Riding Hood reached the house. She looked at the wolf.
“Granny, what big eyes you have!”
“All the better to see you with!” said the wolf.
“Granny, what big ears you have!”
“All the better to hear you with!” said the wolf.
“Granny, what big nose you have!”
“All the better to smell you with!” said the wolf.
“Granny, what big teeth you have!”
“All the better to eat you with!” shouted the wolf.
A woodcutter was in the wood. He heard a loud scream, and ran to the house. The woodcutter hit the wolf over the head. The wolf opened his mouth wide and shouted – and Granny jumped out. The wolf ran away, and Little Red Riding Hood never saw the wolf again.

We had a very special project with the children recently during the school holidays.
“Save the Orangutan” was our project. This was a project presented and organised by 2 secondary students from SMK Seksyen 10, Kota Damansara in conjunction with a campaign organised by WWF and Boh Plantation Sdn Bhd to create awareness among peers and general public the danger of orangutan facing extinction in years to come.
The reason we are having this campaign with our children is because we wanted to create awareness from the early years and hope to change our future through these young children.
For the children, they learned about this lovely creature called orangutan, and the fun they had while developing their physical skills (while coloring with control), social and emotional skills (social – working with peers, sharing, and emotional – they develop the knowledge of caring and saving orangutan), cognitive skills (we only used our right hand for palm printing) and lots more.
The products or results were awesome, but the process during this project – is a passage for the children to develop and grow, which we will only see in the future! That is priceless!!

Palm Printing that the children did!

I stand before my school
Proud to be
A child who follows rules
But also lead in times of need
Oh children’s world
Oh children’s world
The school I love so well
My friends, my teachers and my peers
We play, we learn, we all grow together
And children’s world is in my heart forever…

The Montessori Methodology was developed over a century ago by Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori Methodology emphasised on the Importance of the Foundation of Education during the First Two Years of Life, The Sensitive Periods, the Need for Preparation of the Environment and the Power of the Child.
Children learn unconsciously in their first two years of life. This is the foundation for the future learning. Dr. Montessori calls the process of formation of the sub-conscious mind, the Sensitive Periods. During these periods children can most easily master a particular learning skills or ability within the prepared environment in a Montessori classroom. The Prepared Environment is set up to help the children gain skills like, co-operation, co-ordination, order, concentration, and independence.
We know if the child is to develop, he/she must cultivate from the beginning of his/her life ‘freedom to work’.
The Montessori environment contains five basic curriculum areas: -
Practical Life
Sensorial
Language
Mathematics
Cultural
It is included with Art & Craft, Music & Movement, Geography, History, Science and Physical Education.
